Guide to Nikon Lenses – an App for iOS and Android

I just caught wind of a cool FREE app for your Apple iPad/Pod/Phone or Android phone/tablet.

Simply called “Nikon Lenses”, this app is a guide to Nikon's current lineup of F-Mount lenses used by both Nikon's digital and film SLR cameras.

I first loaded it on my iPad, because I've seemed to misplace another iPod Touch.  I love the simple interface and being able to quickly look at Nikon's entire line of lenses, especially the ones I can't afford.  The quick information it gives you is estimated price, filter size (I love this), and direct links to Nikon and many different review sites.

What I don't like is that it's an app designed for the smaller screen of an iPod/Phone.  When I use it on my iPad and need to hit the “2X” button to fill it to full screen.  Unfortunately, the “2X” button equals pixelation.  My second test was on my Android-based phone and it works just as well as on my Apple products.

Regardless of a few minor issues, this is a fantastic FREE app by Taggart Gorman and is a must have for any Nikon user.  What if you your Canon or Tokina fan?  There are two other near identical apps that Gorman has available for you.

Download them from Apple's App Store or read more here!
