TWiP Weddings 032 – The Wedding School with Susan Stripling

This week we are joined by Susan Stripling to learn more about her latest resource for wedding photographers – The Wedding School.

Susan is an award-winning wedding photographer based in Brooklyn New York. Susan has won numerous awards and in 2012 she was named one of the top 10 photographers by American Photo Magazine. Susan has provided photographic education to thousands of photographers through her workshops, online education, and appearances on CreativeLive.

Now Susan has launched a brand-new resource for wedding photographers called The Wedding School.

Wedding photographers will now have access to the most comprehensive and continuous learning resource center on the Internet with the worldwide announcement of The Wedding School.  Conceived and created by renowned photographer and educator Susan Stripling, The Wedding School is now the benchmark education resource for wedding photographers that dramatically raises the standard of what it truly means to be a “professional wedding photographer.”

Photographers can participate in a full Wedding Fundamentals Course with Susan for $599 which includes classes in business & Finance, Sales & Marketing, Wedding Day Skills, Post Production, and Photo Skills.  The Wedding School is offering a 50% discount ($299) on course registration during the WPPI Conference + Expo.  In addition, course participants will receive complete access to Susan’s extensive library of comprehensive videos and 450-page textbook for one full year.  The video library and textbook go well beyond the important fundamentals of running a successful wedding photography business.  Members will also have private access to The Wedding School’s Facebook Group for additional community support and learning.

The Wedding School was co-founded by Craig Swanson and George Varanakis.  Swanson was the co-founder of CreativeLive and Varanakis was former GM of the Photo Channel at CreativeLive and executive vice president of WPPI and Rangefinder magazine.  Together, with the expert tutelage of Susan Stripling, The Wedding School has all the management and educational components necessary to create a successful and fulfilling online educational website for wedding photographers.

“We are so excited to publicly announce the launch of The Wedding School, which we believe is the only comprehensive online learning center dedicated exclusively to wedding photographers,” explains Susan Stripling.  “Our goal was to create a real-world education platform that becomes a roadmap for success by discussing topics essential to wedding photographers in extraordinary detail.  Our archive of learning resources and direct access to our private community group via Facebook allows for additional learning and sharing among members.  We believe that The Wedding School meets, and frankly exceeds, our objective of creating something truly unique for the wedding photography market.”

The Five Pillars of Wedding Photography

To successfully run a wedding photography business, Susan Stripling believes there are five essential “pillars” of business and photography skills, which collectively represent the core mandate of The Wedding School for creating a complete and cohesive teaching curriculum for its members.  The five pillars include Business & Finance, Sales & Marketing, Wedding Day Skills, Post Production, and Photo Skills.  Within each pillar, members will learn every aspect and intricacy needed to build a successful business and rewarding career as a wedding photographer.
