TWiP Talks 20: Horsing Around with Photography

And Peter Demott an equine and portrait photographer based in Ohio.

A horse lover since childhood, Gigi naturally gravitated toward using them as her subjects. In 1999 she married her husband John, a native of Belgium, and was exposed to the European draft horse. She immediately began using her camera to capture their splendor and the time-honored way in which they are used. Today Gigi continues to write about, and photograph these amazing work animals. She often can be found exploring the backroads across both countries, in search of subject matter to document.

Peter DeMott is a member of PPO (Professional Photographers of Ohio) and PPSO (Professional Photographers of South West Ohio – PPA Affiliate – and is a past president of the organization) Peter grew up in photography processing his own black and white film as the school newspaper photographer in both Jr. High and High School many many years ago. That’s when his interest in photography took root. “people photography was what interested me then.” he says.
