Celebrating the 2025 Flickr x Black Women Photographers Grant!
This week I had the pleasure of co-hosting a special livestream with Genesis Falls, representing the Black Women Photographers organization – to announce the winners of the 2025 Flickr x BWP Grant. This annual grant, now in its second year, celebrates the artistry and vision of Black women photographers, providing a $5,000 prize package to help further their creative journeys.
This year’s theme, “Spaces We Occupy,” inspired a stunning array of submissions, each telling powerful stories about identity, community, and the environments that shape us. Genesis and I discussed the meaning behind each finalist’s work, the importance of community in photography, and the unique perspectives these artists bring to the world.
Congratulations to our 2025 Grant Winner: Eleonore Menga!
Eleonore's evocative double-exposure image, a tribute to Carrie Mae Weems, captured the joyful chaos and love of family life, resonating deeply with both of us and the audience. Check out more of Eleonore
