An Aurora shows up! In this episode of TWiP Talks Trey explains the genesis of this new HDR software.
Aurora HDR is a co-project by Macphun and Trey Ratcliff, the world's most famous HDR photographer. With this software they hope to simplify the creation of stunning HDR photos and streamline the process into a single workflow.
The company says Aurora HDR combines what the world knows about high dynamic range photography, and takes it further. They say it is faster, more powerful and more feature-rich
than any other HDR software available, and offers a completely new photo editing experience.
Trey and I discuss the inception and genesis of this new software and how photographers might put into daily use.
Another great show guys, I’ll put in a photo from my little RX100m2 that I carry around, it’s the camera I used when we went to Trey’s Photowalk in Brooklyn,
Great show & Love Trey! Here is one of my favorites taken on the ferry to the Statue of Liberty. Taken with Sone A7, Cropped & Edited in Aperture. Thanks for the opportunity to share a pic I have never shared, but was proud of, also for the opportunity to win a program I could use! Thanks.
Great stuff – keep it up! 🙂
Thanks for keeping us updated.
Here’s an HDR with a light touch I prefer. I’m looking forward to trying the “More HDR / Less HDR” slider in the Aurora HDR software.
Great show guys. Here is one of my favourite shots of 2015. Trees known as the ‘Three Witches’ on a hilltop in the Cotswolds in England.
Here’s one of my favorite shots I’ve done.
I took this picture in Iceland this year while visiting an ice cave: amazing sight, and it won’t be here next year (which gives me a great excuse to go back there to visit the new caves)
Great Show and congrats to Trey! Here’s a shot that i took in the woods of New Hampshire.
Phoenix in the morning…

Awesome talk, can’t wait until the next one. Here’s one of my favorite photos. Peace in Balikpapan
Fun photos everyone! 🙂
This was made the “olde fashioned” way – 3 pictures merged together – I’m sure Aurora HDR could do it better 😉
Just starting to get into photography, so my most recent photograph has some visible flaws, however, I’m loving the learning process. Currently aiming towards upgrading my Nikon d3200, although I’m definitely looking forward to trying Aurora in the future.
Hello! A determined amateur, I enjoy time spent with the camera. I am posting one my favorite photo of a lady walking to the Church of St. Leodegar, Lucerne.
When you love when you feel …….. You convert it into the picture this the view of how you see situation and draw it into a photo ?
Infrared shot of a bridge over Lake Overholser in Oklahoma City.
Just like most of photographers and Trey, I do enjoy taking photo during sunrise 🙂
Love Lavender, even in winter…
Thanks for the talk, great photos. Sunset in Cala Figuera this winter.

Just getting started in photography, and I’m so impressed by what the
HDR techniques in general and this software in particular can do to
create such mesmerizing images.
Hi Frederick and Trey, this is one of my faves from last year. It’s a HDR taken at the Chuang Yen Monastery in Carmel-NY. I hope you guys like it too. I wonder what would it be like if processed with Aurora. Thank you for the consideration.
As always, super informative. This is from Abiqua Falls, OR. Not much done here, just cleaned up in Lightroom. Thanks guys!
One of my Favorites.
One of my son’s and his beautiful wife at their wedding in Chicago …
Just caught up! This is on the western rim of Bryce Canyon a few years ago (taken with Pro HDR on an iPhone 4). The canyon is literally 500 feet behind me, but I turned to look at the sunset and saw…
The software looks so cool! Posted a picture from the Chicago Photowalk last August with Trey. Very cool meeting you! Thanks Trey and Frederick! Great show and Take care 🙂
I’d be excited to explore the new software! Till then, heres a Photogravure in Chine-collé of a roster at Seven Hills Coffee.

I take a lot of sunrise photos myself. I would say if I Aurora HDRed some of my sunrises, it would look smashing! 🙂
