TWiP 462 – Get Real

This week on TWiP – A Melbourne, Australia photographer uses social media to cry foul about the similarities between his image, and a Calvin Klein ad campaign. This brings up the old debate about inspiration versus imitation.

Also, a startup is placing bets that people are interested in augmenting and enhancing their iPhones to be more DSLRlike. And lastly, Apple files a patent that could mean future iPhone models may have optical zoom capabilities.

  1. The Pictar grip is weird to me: It seems like it’s suited for the people who used to love a faux-SLR *click* sound effect on their old point-and-shoot cameras, but at $100 a piece, I just don’t see even all the kickstarter backers using this.

Then again, if it gets people shooting photos or videos in landscape vs portrait, I’m an instant fan…of everyone else using this.
