On this episode, I talk to Paul Friedman. Paul is a father, photographer and head honcho at Lens Pro To Go. He tells us about why left his corporate job and started his lens and gear rental business ten years ago.
What is it like to have any lens or camera you want to use available to you? Paul says, “It’s easy to get spoiled pretty quickly.” I rented two lenses from Lens Pro to Go recently and we talk about how they worked for me. (They were fantastic.)
We talk about what gear can do for a photographer, and what it can’t do. Paul says he’d rather trust photos to a great photographer with mediocre gear than a mediocre photographer with great gear.
Never before on TWiP Family has there been so much gear talk. Who knew I liked talking about lenses so much?
Renting from Lens Pro to Go was simple and easy from start to finish. If you are thinking of buying a new camera or lens and want to make sure it’s right for you, renting is the way to go. Or if you have a special event that you need a special lens for. I rented the 70-200 to photograph my son’s hockey game.

I’m doing a 365 Project this year. That’s taking and posting a photo every day all year long. A talented and friendly group of TWiP family listeners are also doing the project along with me. (I love them for it.) You can see the photos in our Flickr group: TWiP Family 365 Project 2016. Join us!
