Mobile Creativity with Dan Marcolina

In this episode of TheFIX, designer and photographer Dan Marcolina takes us on a magical mystery tour of iPhoneography, mobile creativity, and his books and apps on that subject, including iPhone Obsessed and two editions of Mobile Masters. Dan has been an enthusiastic evangelist for the iPhone and iPad as creative platforms since the early days of this exciting development in photography. We talk about mobile photography technique, the practice of “app stacking”, or using multiple apps to process an image, and Dan shares insights into his creative process and tips about many cool photography and imaging apps for iOS. If you enjoy camera phone photography, creative app processing, and the entire realm of mobile creativity on phone and tablet devices, this is a show for you! We also discuss some of the groundbreaking work his design firm, Marcolina Design, has done over the years, including Russell Brown’s 2010 Photoshop Odyssey, a wonderful fusion of analog and digital projection with live presentation that he created in collaboration with Adobe’s Russell Brown for the 20th anniversary of Photoshop (link below…definitely worth watching if you’ve never seen it!).
