TheFIX 073: iOS Photos – Quick Tips

iOS Photos App: Tips for Organization, Search, and Efficiency

New to the iPhone? Or, just need to get a better handle on working with the many images that get stored on your iOS device? On this episode of TheFIX, host Seán Duggan shows some of the essentials for working with the iOS Photos app on your iPhone or iPad. We cover the default organizational structure of the Camera Roll, and how that relates to the date and location-based organization offered by Moments, Collections and Years, as well as the Smart Albums created by iOS, and albums that you create. Learn how to take advantage of image metadata and use the Maps and Search features to find images based on where and when they where photographed. Seán also shares tips for using an “In Progress” album, as well as copy and paste, to access images more quickly that you want to bring into other apps for image editing.
Note: The 3D Touch functionality that offers things such as additional shortcut menus, peeks, and Live Photos in the iOS Photos app, is not covered in this episode because that only works with the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus, and an iPhone 6 was used for this show.
